Spotlight Saturday: Mrs. Derrig & Mrs. Desiree

SPOTLIGHT SATURDAY! - This DYNAMIC DUO, housed in our Reading Lab, is absolutely EXTRAORDINARY! They provide support to the entire campus in reading, care, and lots of love!
MRS. DERRIG:
What is your favorite thing about teaching? I always played school and I wanted to be a teacher ever since I was in Kindergarten. I LOVE that Richardson is where I made so many memories with my own children! We all got to go to school together across 9 years!
How long have you been teaching? This is my 23rd year at Richardson, my 29th year teaching in Flowing Wells. I taught 1st grade at Centennial and 2nd grade at Walter Douglas before becoming Richardson's Reading Specialist.
What is your favorite thing to do outside of school? When I'm not teaching, I love to cook and bake! I also LOVE spending time with my grand puppy, Hank.
MRS. DESIREE’:
What is your favorite thing about your position at Richardson, and/or why are you a teacher? My favorite thing about Richardson is the family! This place is multigenerational and I strongly believe that is reflective of the atmosphere provided.
How long have you been at Richardson? I have officially been a Roadrunner for 2 years, but have been around campus for 20 years-11 of them as a parent!
What is your favorite thing to do outside of school? I love spending time with my 3 children…and reading as many books as I can!
